Does this mean that it bombed and Toei won't license anymore Precure series for US release?

Next, please transfer that goofy title from Toei to the garbage - Let Precure be Precure, for crying out loud!

No idea how well (Smile) Glitter Force did for them, but I did see a rumor that they may be making a Glitter Force version of Dokidoki.

Hopeful that Glitter Force is doing okay for them. I do want to see more and this rumor is promising.

I don't know about "bombing", but I was also going to ask whether this is an indication of Saban finding out they can't make a "comeback" in the new days when anything syndicated has to play streaming...

Or whether Toei finally smelled some actual interest in trying to get a US market for their core hometown-phenomenon properties, and grabbed the license back to start dictating their own tyrannical Japanese-licensor terms.

I wouldn't hold my breath just yet. There's still that chance the show somehow succeeded...

That's all but confirmed at this point, so it will be interesting to see how Glitter Force will progress beyond this series, if at all. Part of me wonders where this will leave the [Non-Tri] parts of Digimon too, since Fusion didn't do particularly well.

While it's nice the series is no longer under Saban, it seems they unfortunately managed to dub DokiDoki beforehand. I was hoping the failure would be more quick.

Interesting. This implies to me that Glitter Force did pretty well on Netflix, and therefore an English dub of Doki Doki Precure is in the works.

Hopefully it was a complete failure and sends them the message that this bullshit doesn't fly at this day and age.

It is, and expect heavy cuts - I actually know of several episodes that were combined from two japanese ones, which explains why it'll be 2x15 instead of 2x20 eps.

I think only first season is finished though.

Assuming that this was done due to the series performing poorly, this is both good and bad. Good because it sends the message that this style of dubbing doesn't fly in 2017 any more than it did in 2005 (and the fact that the primary demographic is kids is irrelevant), bad because they might also get the message that Precure and the West don't mix (which I don't think is true; I hope it isn't true). I'd still be all for a dub... as long as it's, you know, good.

But if they do go forward with a Glitter Force version of DokiDoki... hoo boy, will that suck. DokiDoki is already my least favorite season by far.

Why Doki? Heartcatch or Go Princess would be a better choice. The spoiler[Regina and Ace trolling] is just going to upset little girls all over again.

How is continuing a cut dub with an even more cut dub proving that?
