Yesss! That looks soo good. By far my most anticipated show for Winter. And after the sublime Genocidal Organ (oh, boy, that film needs more love) I'm eagerly waiting to see what Geno has in store for the future

I’m hoping this is better than Genocidal Organ. The animation consistency was all over the place. I know it was a troubled production but they couldn’t keep characters on model and there were a lot of panning and static shots to save money. This promo looks great but I worry about the Studios ability to deliver a consistent product. I guess we’ll see.

Looks very promising! Definitely another thing to look forward to for the Winter 2018 season.

(Can't label this as the most anticipated show with the Seven Deadly Sings sequel also scheduled, though.)

They have the help of other studios affiliated with the Twin Engine network. The director of the studio, Koji Yamamoto, is a well articulated guy. Organ Genocide passed into the hands of the studio hastily, this is a TV production. Although I doubt the series will be an animation exhibition, since it is a Sci-Fi. I think the suspense element and the direction is what will most count in the execution. I take Steins as an example; Gate and Death Note. None of these works had a large sample of animation exhibit, but what stood out to them was their direction for what they had to offer.

Being well directed, it does not matter if it is not above average in the area of animation. Being in the middle and being well directed, the series has everything to be exemplary.

I dont think every show needs to be a “animation exhibition.” I’m not expecting the level of sakuga from something like Space Dandy but it is a visual medium and do think a standard of animation quality( or at very least consistency) is just as important as the direction. The aesthetic is part of the narrative. For instance, 91 Days was a decent series that I feel was taken down a notch because of it’s faltering animation.

^^ I think it all comes down to personal preference, really. For example, a lot of people praise flashy animation like Kill la kill or Mob psycho when that kind of over the top movements/animation do nothing at all for me. However, I do love the realistic aestethic of 91 days or Genocidal Organ even if the don't have the most consistent animation out there (and, honestly, I thought both of them had pretty dope realistic action scenes. Specially Genocidal Organ had some truly breathtaking action pieces in its second half).
Anyway, don't want to go offtopic here. All that matters is that Kokkoku looks pretty damn fantastic. January can't come soon enough!

Not too happy about it being on Amazon, but it's great to see Ohashi directing again and best of luck to Geno Studio post-Manglobe and the whole Genocidal Organ debacle. A little more disappointing is that Umetsu's designs just barely carried through…

So currently next season we have this, Overlord Season 2, Darling in the Franxx, Pop Team Epic, and Seven Deadly Sins season 2 .... This could be the best winter season we've had in years.
