Good for them. I'm glad to see it's doing well, even though it's not real manga.

Regardless of what country it's from, it's still a graphic novel to me. I just read ones that I find good, I don't care where they're from.

Way to kill the joy man Evil or Very Mad . Would you have been happier if it was indeed "real" manga?

But in any case by inspirational do they possibly mean something along the terms of a Christian or deeply religious Manga? I mean the term Serenity does kind of loosely imply some religious aspects IMO anyway. I'm not hating, I would just like to be more informed because the descriptions offered in the announcementthat was posted couldn't really (concretely) answer my question.

Yes, Serenity is a Christian graphic novel series, drawn in manga styled art.

You know, I'm glad the Japanese aren't so hung up on names...Hence naming their biggest comiker event 'comiket' and not 'manga-ket'.

OK, the PR calls Serenity a "best seller." Really? A best seller out of what, Inspiration manga? because I seriously haven't heard of it outside of ANN, not even in any Christian circles.

Gosh dammit. How can an American comic made by a Christian entertainment company call its product manga? Such bullcrap. It's just called manga to cash in on the manga boom.

Hell, I myself have been thinking about doing a Christian themed manga inspired comic, but I wouldn't dare call the damn thimg manga. (Of course as for Christian, its more along the lines of Kevin Smith dealthing with religion. Acutally, it would deal with religious fans of Smith and Evangelion. So yeah, ripping off my own life.)
