very excited for this BUT imagine if it doesn't do well in the box office as the ones with Milla did??? that would be hilarious for those hating on Alice for all these years

I don't really think people hated the originals because of Alice (overexposed as she was) I think it was more of the fact that the movies more and more moved further and further from the source material (almost similar to the complains the games have been getting since 4) while making the few mainstays that were included satellite characters.

Secondly if the reboots do worse that'll likely be because of saturation. Not ever film series can be the Fast and Furious franchise.

well the final installement of Alice's franchise alone did more than 300 milions on the box office it was a massive hit and people been complaining wanting a faitfull to the games reboot and they're getting it so they better make it a success no excuses needed

Not even the fact that no movie is guaranteed success even if said movie has good actors and a good script?

To say nothing of the fact that the pandemic has had an adverse effect on movie profits (though how much is open to debate).

For me, Milla Jovovich was the reason to watch the films.

Without her, the remake had better bring something more to the table. Being faithful to the original material is all well and good, but the movie still has to be good. The danger is a lack luster or generic adaptation.
