Hadn't seen this before, looks cool. The 2008 date is intriguing since that's the same year of the Akihabara Massacre. That was followed by the closure of Akiba Pedestrian Sundays, which basically ended Akiba street culture. And in 2007 there were anti-police demonstrations in the district since street performances and police had been clashing.

I don't know if the show is going to be pulling from ALL that, but it'll be interesting to see what it does.

It could also be pulling from more recent events (2011's Bill 156 and the UN's ongoing attack on otaku culture as well).

I actually stood corrected on this shojo is a type of otomen.
