According to Japanese dictionaries, the term originated from the French word "cours," meaning "lesson." (Note: the French word "cours" does not mean "course" as in a "one-course meal." The singular form of "cours" is not "cour.") That's why ANN uses it. |

Sure, but all sorts of words come from other languages but aren't spelled the same. We don't use "waurd" even though it's the original form of "word" |
