I thought at Anime Expo 2003, Tokyopop said that they had the Rave Master liscense?
 Nelvana just came out of nowhere.

Nope.
At AXNY Tokyopop confirmed that Nelvana had the title. animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=2530 The News of RaveMaster being on CN is actually old, Tokyopop mentionned it at AX, and Galaxy Anime mentionned it in early June. Tokyopop is probably doing the DVD release for Nelvana though, I'll confirm this on Monday. |

Guess we'll get to see just how much Nelvana has matured since Cardcaptors if any. Can't wait for all the "Nelvana sucks, they're going to ruin it" posts.

the anime is already pretty bad to begin with... so them ruining it would be a bit of a stretch.

They could set fire to the original masters of Rave and I wouldn't care. Heck, maybe Nelvana totally changing everything might make the show suck less. It's a flaming train wreck as it is.

At least a flaming train wreck almost looks cool O_O
There were really only two things that I liked about the series... The sword was pretty cool, regardless of how lameass the weilder was... and the only character I thought kicked ass in the series was Sieghart who carried himself in a way that said "if you mess with me, I'll kick your ass" |

Wow I read the first volume of the manga... I was beginning toi think TP wimped it down (with this new Initial D scandal and all). But then again the carot nosed snowman dog thing is pretty cool.

The manga isn't so bad... it at least looks like it will go into more detail and hopefully have more character development.

I looked back to our coverage of AXNY and we received 2 reports that TOKYOPOP stated that Nelvana had the license. ! independant, and 1 from our own reporter on the site. But when I spoke to TOKYOPOP today they said that they had the master license and that they dout Nelvana was mentionned at their panel. I'm trying to talk to Nelvana to find out what they say... -t |
