Looks cool as any fan would expect!

I don't suppose anyone knows if this is supposed to be a prequel to either the movies or the TV series?

Well those 8 minutes sure felt like a proper GiTs entry to me so hopefully that should help stop some of the people still complaining. Laughing

It looks pretty great so far and looks like it should be a pretty interesting ride. Though the fact that it's english subbed(surprisingly well I might add) probably means there's a good chance it's already been picked up in the states. Hopefully we'll find out at AX.

More GitS is always a good thing, but I'm only halfway confident with the ones running the show. Ubukata has some chops, but his concepts sometimes start grand and interesting but peter out and fail to live up to their own beginning vision. I'm not concerned at all with Kise, though.

Never been a huge fan of GitS, but those first 8 minutes were pretty sharp. Seems like their really reinvigorating the franchise. Can't wait to check out the whole thing.

There are English subs on the Blu-ray release. Bandai Visual have done this for quite a few of their releases.

GitS TV series and movies happen in two different worlds. The series already has an origins episode and it's clearly not this.

This also differs a bit from the past one would expect in a direct prequel to the movies. Though it is possible to overlook these I suspect this too exists in it's own world. Separate from both movie and TV.

This also opens up the possibility of a reboot for more movies or possibly TV series.

It's not really airing since it's an OVA.

I can't see how this is going to mesh well with the rest of the series. Aramaki is supposed to be hobbling around and not a spring chicken circa 2030, so we've got three years for that. Togusa doesn't seem to be the detective type Kusanagi would even blink at. I'm skeptical about this...

(IDK who the artist is for the music but it's lacking. Where's Kanno Sad )

Looks pretty good, but can't stand the Japanese voices at all. Going to wait for the official English dub.
