I was wondering when this was going to show up on here. I preordered the Japanese LE Bluray last week! I'm curious on how this is going to sell in Japan but judging from the pictures I keep seeing WarnerJP is going all out on the marketing for this show. Hell they invited the Devil is a Part-Timer! LN author to one of the press screenings and he really liked it so maybe it has a chance in Japan.

Minor correction. The third season debuted two weeks ago, not last week.

The Youtube uploads did start last week (probably where the confusion came from), but they're on a one-week delay from when RoosterTeeth.com and Crunchyroll stream each episode.

Watching this now is a really bizarre experience. From the none I understand, it sounds good. Japanese Ruby still isn't nearly as cute as Original Ruby, though.

From how it sounds so far, it all sounds pretty good and I wonder if Rooster Teeth is ever thinking of bringing the Japanese dub overseas but I somehow wouldn't get my hopes up for that one.

Maybe Crunchyroll will pick it up somehow? Would love that. The English cast just sounds so awkward sometimes.

Well Crunchyroll did tweet about it so its not outside the realm of possibilities, though WarnerJP probably won't let it happen for a while to make sure it doesn't hurt their Bluray sales.

Seconded. She sounds more mellow than Original Ruby. ^^; Still, I'm curious to hear what Blake and Yang sound like. I can't imagine Weiss sounding much different. Ooh, and Jaune. Looking forward to Jaune. Anime hyper

Did you not watch the entire video? There's a clip montage after the main scene. 6:54 has Yang speaking, 7:07 and 7:35 have brief clips of Jaune, and 8:20 has Blake (preceded by Weiss). Plus, Ozpin, Nora, and Pyrrah are in there, too.

To be fair, Lindsay Jones had some trouble finding the right voice as Ruby from the first several episodes of the show. But she eventually found the tone we know of today.

That being said, Saori Hayami's voice seems to emphasize more on the endearing side of Ruby's character whereas Lindsay's voice applys more of Ruby's child-like innocence. It gives a slightly different perspective on portraying her, which I always welcome.

The original cast is better in my opinion.

I don't feel like many of the casting choices really capture the original casting that well, especially Nora and Ruby, but especially Nora. From the clips at least they all feel similar and there is less individuality between characters that I typically see in anime or in the original English dub.

I liked the voice who opened the first episode. Weiss is what I thought she would sound like. Blake is ok. Yang and Pyrrha are so-so, Ruby's voice is even higher than Lindsay's. The rest is no just no even more so on Roman. and Nora is just Heeellll Noooooo. All I hear is Mako come out of her mouth and the voice doesn't fit at all. she has the personallity, but not the voice.

Don't get me wrong I love japanese dubs, it's just that for once out of the 12 years I watched anime in general with the japanese dubs (Yes I know Rwby is an American made cartoon.) I actually perfer the original english version. I still would want to see what it would be like in japanese though, even though i'm not too crazy about most of the Japanese VA's. I do that for english dubs too, if they are atleast tolerable, I'll watch them.
