I'm... still at a loss for how anyone could have anything bad to say about Love Live. (Unless it's about Nico specifically, because then, yeah. She... sort of undermines everything good about the show. What makes it good is that it's not at all mean-spirited, which is exceedingly rare nowadays, and it's just about the only thing that has gotten popular without being nasty. But Nico's constant pettiness is a pain).

Anyway, that's cool that they got a bunch of top-selling singles. Good for them.

To me, Nico never came across as petty. She's scared. (I suppose I'll use spoilers out of an abundance of caution...)

spoiler[Nico's first attempt at being a school idol went horribly bad, and she's constantly afraid that this one will go bad, too. It's why it takes her so long to really be able to trust everyone else in the group, and by then her abrasiveness has become a difficult habit to break.]

Plus, if everyone was completely sweetness and light, things would get boring. Very Happy

Episode 7, in which the entire episode is a giant joke about Nozomi sexually assaulting everyone. Quality writing.

Though, I'm not complaining about the show's existence, just ANN's increasingly grating focus on it, to the point where they remind us about the show's success every few days at the least, yet there are people like ABe having art shows that don't get a single mention. Why is this one franchise so prioritized on ANN?

nozomi literally sexually assaulted the rest of the team (most of which are younger than her) as a punishment for not Gitting Gud. its played off as a joke but that is literally what happened in the show. i dont understand how everybody forgets about this part. also in the manga eli does it to nozomi instead.

If that's bad, you should have seen what girls (heck, even boys!) in my class used to do to each other. It's a thing between friends, I woudn't even call it harassment. Rape is something completely different and not to be taken lightly.

That's all I'm going to say on this ridiculous subject.

The anime gets rid of the whole Nozomi groping people thing in the 2nd season so someone on the staff must have realised it was inappropriate.

& there are so many articles because it is the biggest anime franchise around at the moment and its popularity is still rising. No other anime is doing numbers anywhere near Love Live!'s at the moment and I'm sure Love Live! articles bring in a load more clicks for ANN than most other franchises. & at the end of the day ANN is all about getting clicks.

While I can agree that it might have been in bad taste, I think you are a bit extreme on this. She was harassing them to encourage them do better in regards to their school work, and I think it's quite a bit different from her being a rapist.

People don't think of it because quite frankly it's not a big part of the show. It's not really relevant. If I weren't as much of a fan as I am, I likely would not even remember it. It's just supposed to be a bit of a gag. I certainly wouldn't say it defines the show. If anything, it's an anomaly since the show is tame for the most part.

And ANN posts articles and stuff about the franchise because it's popular and it's anime. That's basically what the site does. Why would they not post it?

well i think we all know what kind of journalism there REALLY needs to be ethics in, am i right everybody *laugh track*

really though i'd like to give a little apology for my first post in this thread being in all caps haha. love live's become somewhat of a minor "trigger" for me, or something like that, i have so many bad memories associated with it that sometimes i snap and post something really over the top on ANN when these articles come up. so, sorry for internet screaming.

for me its the defining part of the show because i more or less lost my best and only friend over me feeling uncomfortable with it. that's definitely a biased reason to remember it, and i acknowledge that completely. and i remember it in the manga because i was told that it didn't happen in the manga, so i read it and Had A Bad Time. what is a love live? a miserable pile of betrayal. ...in my case only, of course.

Anything of interest can be submitted to [email protected] (preferably with URL's to official sources of information). Someone else might be interested, and you'll help broaden the appeal of ANN.

I have been grateful for the times that ANN has posted information about things in Japan that I was able to attend and have commented about them in the talk-back section here, and apparently I've been the only ANN reader to bother to do so.

Fair enough, I understand that. (Somewhat, I don't know the exact details). I hope it didn't seem like I was upset at you or anything, I was just giving my two cents'.

Perhaps one day you can give the series another chance. It only brings smiles and good cheer to me, I hope that it can to you someday as well.

There's one site worse at that, it's called Yaraon.

I swear they'd pick anything Love Live related to turn into a news article. (The site is also filled with antis [trolls] for idolmaster, which is annoying as someone who enjoys both series)

Don't believe me? The site is nicknamed after K-ON which has 132 entries, Kancolle has 471, idolmaster has 576, and love live has 1,257!

I could get if they were a Love Live dedicated news site, but they're for anime in general, supposedly.
