Sega Delays Team Sonic Racing Game to May 21, 2019

The official Twitter account for Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise revealed on Thursday that Sega is delaying the Team Sonic Racing game from this winter to May 21, 2019. The company explained, "To make Team Sonic Racing the best game it can be, we're giving the team extra time to work on it."

The official Japanese Twitter account for the 20th anniversary of the franchise revealed on Friday that the game's Japanese release is now slated for a general 2019 date. The company added that while Sega has announced the new exact release date in North America and Europe, the company is working to reveal the exact release date in Japan as soon as possible.

The game is slated physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with a digital-only release on PC. The game is a kart racing game featuring characters from the franchise that will feature both online multiplayer and single player modes. The game will also feature team vs. team gameplay.
