posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

The store 3 Coins offers a variety of items for only 300 yen (about US$2.70), which allows guests to use just three 100-yen coins to make purchases. The chain is now teaming up with the Pokémon franchise to offer a wide range of adorable merchandise.

The collaboration celebrates the upcoming Pokémon film Pocket Monster: Minna no Monogatari, which will open in Japan on July 13. The 3 Coins stores' new product line-up includes kitchen sponges, melamine plates and cups, food storage containers, recycling bags, silicone iPhone cases, slippers, pillows, slide mirrors, lunch totes, and much more.

Most of the items cost 300 yen for one piece or set, but a few items cost 500 yen (about US$5) or 150 yen (about US$1). Store locations throughout Japan began offering collaboration plastic shopping bags to all customers on June 30. The collaboration merchandise will go on sale in all locations in Japan on July 14.

Lugia and a new Mythical Pokémon named Zeraora will appear in Gekijōban Pocket Monster: Minna no Monogatari (Pokémon the Movie: Everyone's StoRy), the 21st film in the Pokémon franchise. The StoRy is set during the annual Wind Festival at Frau City, which is blessed with wind from the Legendary Pokémon Lugia.
