PriPara Idol Anime's TV Ad Previews Main Lead Lala's Story
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the PriPara television anime series began streaming a commercial on Saturday. The commercial introduces the main character Lala and her aspirations to become an idol.
The story revolves around Lala, an elementary school girl who wants to become an idol in PriPara, a sport that judges girls on their song, dance, and fashion. The invitation to the sport is through a PriPara ticket. Even though elementary school students are not allowed to become PriPara idols, through many events, she passes the audition, and becomes an idol.
The anime adapts Syn Sophia's arcade game PriPara, and it stars:
Chihiro Suzuki (Disgaea, Tales of the Abyss) will play Kuma (lit. 'bear'), Takuma Terashima (Sacred Seven, The [email protected]) will play Usagi (lit. 'rabbit'), Urara Takano (Sakura Wars, Ah! My Goddess) will play Gloria Ogata, Kanae Ito (Shugo Chara!, Nanana's Buried Treasure) will return from the Pretty Rhythm franchise as the navigator Meganee Akai, and Junichi Suwabe (Bakuman, Fate/Stay Night) will play the new character Meganii Akai. Similar to Meganee, his name is a pun off of red glasses, and the fact that he is an older man.
i☆Ris will perform the opening theme, while Pretty Rhythm girls' group Prizmmy☆ will perform the ending theme.
The anime will premiere on July 5.
