Hunter x Hunter Manga Extends Hiatus at Least 1 More Week
posted on by Kyle Cardine
This year's 40th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Yoshihiro Togashi's manga Hunter X Hunter will extend its hiatus. The manga will not return in the magazine's 41st issue as originally scheduled, since Togashi has not fully recovered medically. A return date was not announced.
Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump announced in the year's 39th issue that the manga would go on a two-week hiatus due to Yoshihiro Togashi having lower back pain. The manga also went on a brief hiatus in July, and Togashi resumed his manga in June after a hiatus of more than two years.
Shueisha shipped the 32nd compiled volume in Japan in December 2012, and Viz Media released the same volume in North America in April. The manga inspired two television anime series; the latest one has been running since 2011, but it will end with episode 148 on September 23. The manga also inspired two anime films and several original video anime titles.
