New set with 7 films, 'Final Chapter: the Garden of sinners' short ships on November 10

Aniplex of America will rerelease The Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyōkai - the Garden of sinners) films in a Standard Edition Blu-ray Disc Box Set on November 10. The company will begin taking pre-orders for the box set on Monday.

The box set will include the original seven films in the series, as well as the "Final Chapter: The Garden of Sinners" short on eight discs with English subtitles. The set will also contain the "pre-show reminder" videos that played before the films' original screening in Japanese theaters, a leaflet of the key visuals for each film, and new box art (pictured at right) by TYPE-MOON character designer Takeshi Takeuchi. The set will retail for US$399.98 with a sales price of US$319.98.

Aniplex USA originally released the seven-film series in an English-subtitled Blu-ray disc box in February 2011, and later also released the seven films on DVD in 2012.

Aniplex of America released the epilogue film, The Garden of Sinners/recalled out summer, on Blu-ray Disc on April 21.

Aniplex describes the film series:

After lying in a coma for two years caused by a traffic accident, Shiki Ryougi awakens with amnesia. Inexplicably, she finds, in turn, that she has also obtained the “Mystic Eyes of Death Perception” in which she can see the invisible lines of mortality that hold every living and non-living thing together. Working for a small independent agency, Shiki attempts to unravel the baffling mystery behind a series of abnormal, horrifying incidents. Are they a foreshadowing that leads to something even more tragic and ominous? Things are not what they appear to be on the surface, but what dark revelations lie underneath? In this modern occult-action thriller, Shiki must tackle supernatural incidents with her special abilities while searching for her purpose for living.

The films, animated by ufotable, are based on TYPE-MOON writer Kinoko Nasu's (Lunar Legend Tsukihime, Fate/stay night) 1998 Kara no Kyōkai novel. Only the first chapter of the novel officially appeared in English, which Del Rey published in the first volume of its English version of Faust in 2008.

Update: The set will not include The Garden of Sinners/recalled out summer epilogue film. The set will include the seven main films, as well as the "Final Chapter: The Garden of Sinners" short. Thanks, Mirri.
