Game director Sōichirō Morizumi and producer Kōji Ishitani announced on March 31 and April 1 respectively that they have resigned from game studio Monolith Soft. Morizumi later posted that it was an amicable resignation.

During his 14 years at Monolith Soft, Morizumi was a producer and writer on many of the handheld Super Robot Wars games, including a scriptwriter on the first Super Robot Wars: Original Generation game for the Game Boy Advance. He directed the development of such games as Namco x CAPCOM and its spiritual sequel Project X Zone and Project X Zone 2, as well as Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier and the Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier EXCEED sequel. He is credited as supervisor on the Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector anime.

Morizumi stated he plans to stay in the video game industry.

During his approximately 16 years at Monolith Soft, Ishitani served as producer for such titles as Xenosaga Episode I and Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. He worked with Morizumi on the Namco x CAPCOM, Project X Zone, Project X Zone 2, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, and Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier EXCEED games.

Both developers were former employees of Banpresto, the developer of the Super Robot Wars series of games.
