Hakusensha Offers Manga Park App With Berserk, More in Africa

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
App launches in Kenya, Nigeria with 7 manga series

The official website for Hakusensha's Manga Park website and app revealed on Friday that the Manga Park W app has launched in Africa. The app is currently available in Kenya and Nigeria, but there are plans to release it in more countries in Africa.

The app currently features Kentarō Miura's Berserk, Hisaya Nakajo's Hana-Kimi, Hiro Fujiwara's Maid-sama!, Matsuri Hino's Vampire Knight, Bisco Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club, Mizuho Kusanagi's Yona of the Dawn, and Kiminori Wakasugi's Detroit Metal City manga. More works are planned for release in the app in the future.

The app is available to download for free, but it includes in-app purchases. With the app, Hakusensha hopes to take a lead in the African market, which has limited access to official manga content. Hakusensha aims to proactively prevent the spread of pirated content by entering the African market.

The Manga Park app launched in Japan in August 2017 with series from several of Hakusensha's manga magazines.
