Let's Go Karaoke! Anime Reveals 12 New Cast Members

The staff for the television anime of Yama Wayama's Let's Go Karaoke! (Karaoke Iko!) manga and Captivated, by You (Muchū sa, Kimi ni.) manga revealed 12 new cast members on Thursday for Let's Go Karaoke! The cast will all play yakuza in the series.

- Masaaki Yano as Kitty-chan Phobia (Kitty-chan is another way to refer to Hello Kitty)
- Ikuji Nose as Anikibun (Leader)
- Kenichi Mine as Long-Faced
- Yūma Uchida as Jersey
- Yūki Ishikari as T-shirt
- Masuo Amada as Former Cram School Teacher
The staff also revealed the "first part" of a "karaoke tournament" video featuring the show's stars Shun Horie and Daisuke Ono. They are later joined by Yōji Ueda and Yukihiro Nozuyama.
Both anime will have a stage presentation at the KyoMAF event in Kyoto on September 20.
Let's Go Karaoke! will premiere first on ABEMA on July 24 at 10:00 p.m., before airing on TV Tokyo on July 24 at 10:30 p.m. The anime will air later that evening on BS11, Kansai TV, Nagoya TV, HBC Hokkaido Broadcasting, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. Captivated, by You will debut on August 21. Both anime will air consecutively on the same channels and timeslots.
Let's Go Karaoke! stars: Shun Horie as Satomi Oka, Daisuke Ono as Kyouji Narita, and Shinnosuke Tokudome as Wada.
Captivated, by You stars: Kenshō Ono as Miyoshi Hayashi, Kōki Uchiyama as Jōji Ema, Yūki Ono as Yuichi Medaka, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Akira Nikaidou.
Asami Nakatani (Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR) is directing the anime at Dōga Kōbō and Yukiko Tsukahara (production coordination on The Imaginary) is the assistant director. Yoshimi Narita (Twilight Out of Focus, Dance Dance Danseur) is overseeing the series scripts, Mai Matsuura (KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm, The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians) is the character designer, and Takurō Iga (Trillion Game, Oshi no Ko) is composing the music.
Yen Press has licensed both the Let's Go Karaoke! and Captivated, by You manga for English release.

Nothing worries Satomi Oka more than the upcoming final choir competition of his middle school career -- right up until he is accosted by a stranger from the shadows who demands, “Let's go karaoke!” As a yakuza, Kyouji Narita doesn't scare easily, but a terrifying prospect has driven him to seek Satomi's help. Wayama released the Let's Go Karaoke! manga as a dōjin publication in 2019, and Kadokawa published it in one volume in September 2020. The manga came in third place for the 14th Manga Taisho awards in 2021. The manga inspired a live-action film that opened in January 2024 following a delay from 2023.
The Captivated, by You high school manga debuted as a dōjin publication in February 2019. The single compiled book volume is a compilation of Wayama's "Ushiro no Nikaidō" boys-love manga strips, with an original 30-page sequel story.
Wayama is also known for her Onna no Sono no Hoshi manga.
