YOUR FAVORITE MANGA, NOW IN YOUR POCKET:
NIUHI IPHONE APP LAUNCHES December 1!
Plus: MOON CIDERS Episode 3
Tokyo, Japan ー November 24, 2025 - KOMODO is thrilled to announce that NIUHI, a next-gen manga platform, will be available on the iPhone App Store in the U.S. and Japan on December 1, making an exciting new step after a year of beta service on desktop. The app brings manga fans and creators closer than ever before, offering new ways to explore, connect through translations, and enjoy stories from around the world, many of which are making their English debut on NIUHI.
In addition, Episode 3 of the original sci-fi, thoughtful action manga, MOON CIDERS, will be dropping the same day to celebrate the app launch.
“We are excited to extend NIUHI to mobile, and offer creators and the community more ways to connect and discover amazing, high-quality Japanese indie manga,” said Ricky Uy, Co-Founder and CEO of KOMODO. “Beyond its mobile debut, our plan is to continually develop new features and services for creators and customers around the world.”
The app introduces several new features designed to enhance the reading and community experience:
■Manga and Comics from Around the World: Including manga and comics from Japan, the United States, and Hong Kong, with more works from indie and commercial creators added regularly.
■Creator Profile Page: With dedicated creator profiles, artists can present their work in a personalized space. Profiles can be customized with a profile photo, cover image, and optional features like country flags and social media links to help them connect with fans.
■User Profile Page: The new Favorite Shelf feature allows users to showcase up to six of their favorite purchased titles in a beautifully arranged bookshelf. Readers can also explore what other NIUHI users are enjoying through their own curated selections, making it easier to discover new stories and creators.
■Profile Customization: NIUHI Rewards lets users unlock exclusive avatars by completing reading milestones, starting with rewards for finishing five and ten books. Avatars include characters from What the Muck: the end of the world, MOON CIDERS, and NIUHI original characters. Users who create an account between December 1 December 31 will receive a special bonus avatar.
■Community Translations: Allowing fans to support creators by helping translate stories into different languages using NIUHI's built-in translation tools, making manga and comics more accessible to more readers.
Note: Google Play version coming soon!
To celebrate the launch, KOMODO is releasing a new episode of NIUHI's original manga MOON CIDERS by Japanese duo artist TALI — dropping on December 1 and available for free!
Episode 3 takes a more introspective turn — delving into the characters' everyday lives and the echoes of their past. Through quiet moments and emotional memories, readers are invited to see another side of the world of MOON CIDERS.
Episodes 1 and 2 are already available to read for free, so fans can catch up on the story before the release of Episode 3.
With the app launch, NIUHI continues to expand its vision of making manga and comics more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
More stories, more creators, and more ways to connect are on the way, so stay tuned and join the celebration!
