I saying I have vols. 1, 2, and 3 from Be Beautiful and vols. 4, 5, 6, and 7 by DMP. So, yeah. |
OMG the dreaded Barry White version of Asami in chapter one, and the switching of Asami and Fei Long's dialogue in vol 2. Those are classics!

Gee, that Kickstarter from DMP was only a little over a year ago and their rights have already lapsed?

This is so cool! I will definitely be picking up SuBLime's volumes.
I backed the KS for the reprint of the series and ended up with two complete sets. Probably will see about selling the second set, but keep one set to compare with the new books.
I've been ordering the BeBoy Gold issues that have the chapters of Finder and have books 7 & 8 in Japanese. I hope the SuBLime will be able to get the little booklet extras that came with them.

I've got my frustrations with DMI but, still I feel bad for the people who work or freelance for them. Losing Finder was a blow. But, I'm more interested in what Sublime may decide to pick up now. Especially since there is such scattershot quality and censorship under Juné. It's too bad Sublime doesn't do BL novels. The Cold series by Narise Konohara was very good (though brutal) and volumes very hard to find.

I like how I own different published volumes of Finder from both Be Beautiful(vol. 1-3) and Digital Manga Publishing(vol. 4-7). Some I'll have a SuBLime vol.8-. |
I may have BB version of Finder too. I definitely have BB versions of Kizuna, plus the Japanese reissues.
I read this news on Twitter last night and it was awesome seeing all the responses. I'm also glad SuBLime rescued Finder. I'm sure they'll also get Border, another Kodaka Kazuma title that's been slow in release.
I think the reason DMI has shifted more to porn and soft porn is because yaoi is not selling for them. Plus it seems to me if things were already this bad with Libre, other publishers must be looking at DMI the same way. I do wonder what's gonna happen to all the titles they've announced at Yaoi Con. I remember 2015's announcement of a big title that everybody was dying to get their hands on. If that was Libre's, they've lost that license.

This is expected since Libre had a hand in Sublime foundation. I'm thrill for the digital release. I would like to see Ai no Kusabi retranslated by Sublime because DMP not only skipped some sentences but the translation also dreadful.
Now I wish other publishers like those for Saezuru, Does flower bloom and ZE to stop giving license to DMP. If the wait for the release isn't putting me in the coffin, the translation quality does. Considering the fan had to rally for them to put some effort for better translation for Saezuru that says something about this publisher.
