I haven't been to any major anime cons. I have been to smaller, local cons that had anime in them, however.
Arisia and Vericon have an anime wing. Boskone is finally moving back to Boston and I believe they have an anime wing. AnimeBoston will be Boston's first real anime convention. Those three are either in Boston or Cambridge. Please note: Boston is a very expensive place to live or visit. Please budget accordingly. I'm hoping to wind up on a few anime panels at Arisia. With luck (and I mean luck) I'll have an AMV ready for Vericon. I don't know what Boskone has planned yet. See you there. |

I haven't been to many cons, mostly because I've been so busy with organizing my own. Although a friend and myself went to Anime North as Duo and Heero from Gundam Wing once. Fangirls asked some odd questions about us, though.....
Also, we attended the abismal Colossal Con here in Cleveland. To quote one of the members of Ohayocon, "I'll never get that half hour of my life back." God I wanted to go to BAAF this year, though. The chance to see the Cowboy Bebop Movie and meet Yoshiyuki Tomino, why'd I have to pass it up? |

I kinda had no choice but to pss up BAAF/AXNY and SHoujocon this yr from lack of money (and gf problems).
I'm hoping my new job works so I can get to Anime next in NJ with friends and possibly go as Duo (I wrote out my ideas finally for putting the outfit together too). |

Anime Match Game/Anime Hollywood Squares sounded like so much fun! I'm planning on going next year. Sounded like a blast! I saw Kristine Sa LIVE a little while ago and she's awesome!! Her CD has been in my stereo on repeat for a while. thats how much i love it. hehe. Do you have the 1st edition or 2nd edition? |

Well, I went to AXNY (infact, I am wearing the AXNY shirt right now), although I was very disappointed. The dealer's room was... to say the least overcrowded. Teh best thing that came out of going there was saving about $65 on my lates hlj.com order... hehe. Otakon is the greatest. I go every year, if you are looking at going to a convention on the east coast, go there. I will probably go to Anime Boston as well, as I will soon be a proud NU student. Just a T ride away!

Kyle was just into the chocolate covered babies. But AnimeFEST was pretty cool overall, I only caught the tail end of the concert tho. |

I have gone to Fanime Con in San Jose for the past few years as well as Anime Expo in LA. Tentatively, I am thinking of trying an out of state con next year or the year after. Probably ACen or Otakon.

NU student? You have my condolences. Don't let them work you into the ground.

hehe, yeah... classes start tomorrow... it's nice, I am already registered, and that's all I have to do, no hotels or anything where my budget might get a shot in the head or anything.

I like the panels and opening cerimonies at AnimeFEST alot better than A-Kon, and the personal feeling because of less people was kinda cool. But I didn't like the dealers room too much, too many people tried to sell me porn.

Good luck with school. I live just north of Boston so if you need any advice on the town let me know.
