Given the nature of the anime that was nominated I can see why Foster's won. Afro Samurai is not bad overall... I just don't think it is award-worthy. Still, it's nice to see Japanese anime getting some attention in the Emmy Awards.

As others have said the better show won in the end. Fosters is very good and one of the better western animated shows to be done in some time. At first glance I thought it was going to be bad and very childish but after watching an episode I tried to catch it whenever it was on. It has a nice charm to it and it's pretty original. The best shows I've found really are the ones that can appeal to both kids and adults without being dumb down. Also Foster's was genuinely funny.
