As much as I enjoy the moe theme, I think the author(s) of this book have gone way too far making these genderbended versions of History's Most Infamous Dictators.

Does Castro-chan have a cigar?

Various interviews I've read from anime directors more or less state they see no reason to hide war or make it a taboo subject to talk or make fun of. They feel the more common it becomes means the more awareness it raises, and leads to Japan being the very anti-war nation it is. It's when you hide it and make it taboo that people become ignorant of it, and war probably isn't a good thing for people to be ignorant of.

Why do I get the feeling that these artists are simply bored out of their skulls?
It makes my head hurt, but it's not exploding until they offer up an explicit yuri issue.
And that's probably going to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. (;-_-)

I'm vaguely disturbed that Saddam Hussein made me pop wood.

I'm not sure if that was a Holocaust joke but I still giggled. |
Can't wait to watch boney Jews working the oven, moe-ified of course.

They have a point. J-schools teach WW2 mainly just about Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima/Nagasaki, but not much before or in-between.

On this we are in agreement.
I don't care that Hitler is now a cute girl in a cute uniform with an apron on. SHE'S STILL EFFING HITLER. I'm not going to go "d'awwww" just because Hitler was Moe-ified.

Are people running out of ideas for Moe characters so fast that they resorted to dictators? How about they just make everything into a Moe character so nothing looks weird anymore.

This isn't anything new for Japan. Hitler was once the main villain in a JRPG, after all.
Personally, I don't see the big deal about making parodies about these kinds of people. Nothing should be taboo, since it just leads to oppression of free speech.

Oh c'mon! Not even moe-ified Rape of Nanking or Unit 731? Japan should at least do those. Lots of panchira opportunity for "comfort" girls!

I wouldn't call him the main villain of Persona 2 IS.

Oh boy, glorious Nippon has gone and done it now. I can't wait to hear the Chinese reaction to this.

You hilarious edgy comedians need to tuck it back a little or I'm happy to start handing out bans for this stuff.

Honestly, I'm more surprised that Hitler has a page on ANN at this point.
