The number of people who missed On Your Mark is astonishing to me. It was the first Ghibli thing I've seen, for one, but even after that, I can't tell you how many times I've come across it since, especially after the controversy surrounding the singers.
I guess my experience must be quite unique compared to most peoples'. I think I guessed Up on Poppy Hill due to process of elimination, but to be honest, I haven't seen it. I own it, but I wanted to watch it together with a particular friend who... well, she and I don't talk as much as we used to... and I can't gather the strength in my heart to watch it without her either. So I continue to wait... |

It was a music video, so it may not have fallen under the jurisdiction of Ghibli including it in Disney's deal, which only extended to Tokuma/Toho's movie productions. (A Martin Scorsese collection usually doesn't include Michael Jackson's "Bad", after all.) Even before the scandal banished it off the JP boxset, I had to special order it as a VCD or DVD for Chage & Asuka fans. And my charitable heart just can't humanly SIT here and listen to how many people never saw On Your Mark in their lives-- Unfortunately, any attempt to go looking for it on YouTube only brings up fan-edit mashups with every other Ghibli movie...Thanks guys, you're, like, really creative. |

Yeah, that kind of mash-up is pretty pointless. Shame that you have to hunt down a torrent of a freaking music video. |

Oh, don't have to break the law--Forgot about Vimeo, after all, and fortunately, so did all the mashup kids: https://vimeo.com/153710754 (Six and a half minutes, and still more entertaining than two hours of Howl's Moving Castle.) |
