As someone mentioned before, this is not an anime song, I believe Frank Sinatra sang this song originally (Nat King Cole sang it as well). The Eva version is a remake of these classic songs, I would like everyone to be aware of that (because the originals are the best- especially the Cole version...).

Nobody singing an anime song would be taken seriously on American Idol. They're snobs.
And what's this with "People don't consider Pokemon an anime" crap? You can't just say that something isn't anime because you don't like it. Much like you can't say that a band isn't playing music just because you don't like the sound of it. I don't like Pokemon, but I'm not some anime snob who thinks that anime is infallible (I'm not targeting anyone in particular). I feel that Pokemon, like DBZ, gives anime a bad name amongst those ignorant of anime. Yet, I would not mock or belittle someone because they liked Pokemon. They just like a different style of anime than I do, or perhaps watch a more diverse range of anime than I do. |

Amen! However, I don't think that Pokemon or DBZ give anime a "bad name" but, I do believe that it creates a general misconception of anime as an art form. Particularly, to those who are unfamiliar or, to use your word, ignorant of anime. |

Personally, I think the song 'Fly me to the Moon' is a decent song. I've heard 'Frankie' sing it. But I hate when 'Megumi Hayashibara' sings it. Since it's the end theme to the 'Evangelion' series. I fast forward through that quick.
![]() ![]() Though I didn't know 'Frankie' did a number on it, because this was the first time I had ever heard it. ![]() |

Fly Me to the Moon was written by Bart Howard, not Sinatra or anybody else. It's been covered by zillions of people, from Eva Cassidy's version to Utada Hikaru's "club mix". That, however, is neither here nor there, as I believe this thread was meant to be about the Jigglypuff song.

The Japanese do. But then, they also consider The Lion King anime.
Frank Sinatra singing as a pokémon? Anyone got a clip of that? |
