Oh, I definitely know that Kanon will very likely never be released in America on blu-ray ... I was just saying I wish they would
 I have no idea why Clannad is the favorite out of Air/Kanon/Clannad .... Clannad is my least favorite. There are a few emotional punches and the animation and music are gorgeous, but ... it just meanders all over the place for FAR too long with side characters that are boring and don't matter. I wish it had FOCUSED like the movie does.
Edit: Oh, and I wouldn't buy the Japanese release for the blu-ray. I love the English dub, and I think it looks plenty good on DVD (I have the original single disk releases with the artbox). I'm pretty happy with how it looks when played on a blu-ray player and HD tv

While they're not completely unrelated, I found the character's face designs in Air to be far too distracting. The girls appeared to have their mouths between their eyes, and that made it hard to look at them. I couldn't get interested in Air's plot, either. The Clannad designs aren't perfect, but the faces were a significant improvement over Air. I haven't seen any of Kanon, so I can't rate that one.
It probably is for many people. Oh well. ^^ |
