I cant wait too see a dubbed version of Bleach on TV. Unfortunately, there's no AS in Canada, which sucks ass. As for dubbing, I was quite happy with the dubs of most of the shows on AS, so I'm pretty sure that Bleach will be dubbed fairly well. Also, it should be pretty easy to dub, since there's not many concepts and stuff, rather just action.
Personally, I like it best if AS had Bleach, Inuyasha (I dont mind reruns), Cowboy Bebop and Trigun over and over again. It's always fun to watch reruns of those shows.

You obviously haven't watched the dub of Naruto. Stop with this elite fanboyism. Butchered. That's a laugh.

You're not an anime fan. You're just a selfish, purist, self-righteous... I'll stop right there in order to avoid name-calling. If you truly think all dubbing is horrible and hacks up the anime, you need to get off your high horse and get your head out of the gutter. Or learn some Japanese and stop relying on subtitles. Oh, and wait until the damn thing actually comes out before judging how it's dubbed. Some subtitle fanatics have no logic.

Adult Swim doesn't dub anything. They just broadcast dubbed anime.

Don't forget the fact that downloading licensed anime is illegal.

Alex K., I think you misunderstood what Stupidman007 said (or maybe I did). I don't think he was saying that [as] did any dubbing, I think he just said he liked the dubs of the anime [as] airs.
Anyways, I was really suprised when I saw this on ANN this afternoon. I was not expecting VIZ to announce who was going to air BLEACH on TV so soon. It's going to air this fall? That's pretty crazy. I can't believe they can dub an anime that fast. O_O

I haven't seen Eureka 7 or Bleach but I read alot about them on this forum so I'm looking forward to seeing them.
And for all of you who HAVE seen them already...I'm glad that your faves are coming to America!

That was unexpected, atleast for me. This is why I don't like to watch fansubs, cause now I won't watch it on TV because I've seen the first two arcs already. Although I wouldn't mind re-watching my favorite fight scenes.

Downloading anime/manga, well not all of it but the fairly large majority don't give away the rights, is illegal. It doesn't matter if it's licensed in your region or not.
I'm not a fan of dubs but if it gets anime dvds more easily accesible in brick and mortar locations, it's a good thing.

Downloading unlicensed anime is illegal too, you're just less likely to be prevented from doing it.

Why is it that EVERY. SINGLE. THREAD. on this board eventually devolves into either....
A. A sub-vs.-dub debate
B. A "downloading anime should/shouldn't be legal" debate
C. All of the above.
Fer crissakes, is that all there is to talk about? Sheesh....

personally, I'm quite happy that it's going to be aired on [AS].Most of the dubs that they air tend to be fairly good, imo, and hopefully bleach won't be an exception. And the edits will probably be kept to a minimum too!
now, some people mentioned steve blum being a good choice for ichigo and, I think, Cat yoruichi earlier. I actually think that if he were cast he'd be best as Urahara. And Yuri Lowenthal as Ishida as well, which I think was also said earlier. Can't really think of who'd be good choices for the other characters though. well, not like it really matters, just gotta sit back and wait till viz announces the voice cast.

I think it's almost definite that YTV will pick up Bleach at the exact same time as CN. It's also better that it's going on AS, since unlike with Naruto we won't get a version with unneccessary edits.

This is great. Considering how much money Viz HAS to have paid to get the anime license, showing it on Adult Swim is going to cut into DVD profits by a huge margin. While broadcasting it gets it to a larger audience, and CAN cause people to by the merchandising tie-ins, it also tends to cause DVD sales to flatten due to people getting to watch the series for free. And yes, while the DVD's are usually uncut and have the original Japanese with subs, only about 10% of anime fans in the US are hardcore enough to care about that. The rest like dubs, and especially FREE dubs.
Ah well, the 10k-15k volumes they'll probably sell of each DVD is better than nothing I guess. I suppose we should just be glad it was Viz and not 4Kids who got it, considering 4Kids had a drop of about 60% in revenue last year. Here's hoping Viz manages to keep in the black and doesn't do like ADV did with Saint Seiya...dropping a series uncompleted due to poor sales of the DVD's.

Actually, there's a quite a lot of blood (particularly large masses of it splattering out from inflicted sword wounds) in the anime. |
Yep, thinking about all the series I've seen on AS, I can't think of one that is more bloody than Bleach. The series just gets progressively bloodier as it goes on. *no compliants here, though*
My bf thought something was wrong as I screamed reading the news. I never thought Bleach was going to get licensed, let alone appear on a channel I actually get. Now there's no way my boyfriend can avoid watching it. hee hee...

I have to say I'm sort of surprised.
On one side, you have the,"I wish Naruto,One Piece,Gundam Seed,Yugioh, etc. was on Adult Swim" people actually getting their wish.
But on the other side, you had freakin' s-CRY-ed airing on adult swim.Which did NOT deserve a slot in the [as] line-up.So really, after that point almost anything was possible.
Yeah, there's been lots of big anime news lately. Now I'm just waiting for Big O Season 3 to be announced. >:o
EDIT:I'm also one who hasn't seen Bleach yet.So I'm actually pretty excited to see it on CN later this year.
