Is Willy Fog an anime? I thought it was a Japanese/Spanish co-production, but I'm still unsure. I'm not going to submit it until I know for sure.

Co-productions are tricky. Just about everything in the 80's was a coproduction with japan since it was cheaper to have them do animation than it was to do it domesticly. Personally I don't think they should be here (though I admit I'm guilty of submiting atleast one) since it kinda clouds just what anime is. I guess in the end it's up to one of the editors to decide.

I've looked into Willy Fogg and feel that it can be included in the encyclopedia.
I've started the entries for you anime#1077 But what year was it produced, and when did it premiere in Spain? http://www.eofftv.com/a/around_the_world_in_80_days_1956_main.htm says 1981 http://www.public.iastate.edu/~rllew/chrn1982.html says 1983 and The Anime Encyclopedia says 1985 |
