This US gross number was actually known by the Japanese sales community, way back in September:

While this $115,840 was only from 3 days of sales at the Box Office, it is only a small fraction of what Love Live has made in the other countries (excluding Japan). From the known data, Love Live made $1,147,106 in all countries it was shown, with South Korea being the biggest contributor to the $1,147,106:

In Japan, Love Live has grossed 2.84 billion yen as of Dec 20th (after the 28th weekend or 191 days since release): http://www.bunkatsushin.com/news/article.aspx?id=110618. However, its run will finally end after Dec 31, after showing in theaters for 202 days straight.

Exactly how I feel. I attended the premier night in Los Angeles, and then regretted not having bought tickets for at least one more screening that whole weekend.

Same for me, but it was worth it, in my opinion. As for legal releases, the Japanese version has English subtitles if you're willing to pay the price.
