WORST TRAILER EVER.

Recycled clips from the show's 1st opening, and a random unimpressive shot of Naruto running? Yep, that'll get butts in the seats.

My hypothesis; the movie has only barely begun the animation process.

Ah..you really don't even need to have watched a ton of material to understand this...Dragonball made a moniker of this commerical concept way before the dubs were done for the US. Though, you are more than right; properties in television series and OVA's (for what is actually released in this format, as the OVA market is practically extinct) mostly generate films just to capitalize on popularity, but in some cases, aren't that successful. Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door didn't do well in Japan, but did fairly well Stateside.

Besides, isn't this the third or fourth Naruto film being released?
