HIKKI TAKEOVER IS HERE! I'm so happy that she's returned...and with a bang. I hope Fantome ends up #1 worldwide.

I'm glad for her! At least she knows she's still loved. I only like a few of her songs, but I definitely want to give the new album a listen. Maybeeee it'll give me some insight on what kh3's theme is going to sound like? Lol.

Well she deserves it! She's a very talented artist, probably the best Japanese singer out there (IMO). I love her themes for the Evangelion movies, especially Sakura Nagashi. She also completely avoids the deadly trap of cringey Engrish lyrics that so many others fall into. The English sections in her songs actually sound beautiful, thanks to how fluent in the language she is. I'm one of the people who bought the album and it's really great. And when you consider all of the things she's went through in the time since she released her last full album, it really hits you hard. Welcome back, Hikki. Smile

The few songs I've heard so far are amazing =D

So, I'm Canadian and do not want to use iTunes. Is there anywhere else I could purchase the MP3s? Amazon.ca doesn't seem to have it, and no matter what I do Amazon.com won't accept my foreign credit card apparently... *sad*

^does amazon ca have physical copies? If not, I'm sure you could order a physical copy from another outlet.

Not just fluent, she's fully bilingual, she was born and raised in New York for the first 12 years of her life thus the reason she's practically the only Japanese artist that can pull off mixing English in her Japanese music.

I've sorely missed Utada's music these past several years. I recently was listening to some of her old albums and the new remix of Simple and Clean that was released for the 2.8 trailer and it reminded me of how very few Japanese singers are as technically talented vocalist as Utada is. It's truly unfortunate, but in the grand scheme of things, I'm glad we have her back. Just ordered her album off of amazon and am listening to it as a type, beautiful so far!

Whoa, thanks for the insight! I was not aware that she was born in the US, let alone lived there for the majority of her childhood. That really explains a lot. She even sings some lovely lyrics in French at one point on the new album, if she's proficient in that language on top of both English and Japanese that's even more impressive.
