The entire series or just the first season? Neither this article nor the Kickstarter actually mention an episode count.

For $100k, I'd assume it would just be the first season, but I don't know how low non-union NYC actors will go.

Awesome.

Yeah, the kickstarter mentioned the box would have space for future seasons so that probably implies first season.

I honestly don't know. If Nozomi stated that they would contract it out to Funimation or Sentai then I'd get a good idea what it could sound like but this could be anything.

@Primus

"Aria the Animation" is the title of the first series. I'm pretty sure that is all you would be getting.

This leaves me in a quandary. I want the Bluray version, but I have no interest at all in a dub. I'll probably have to contribute, the price for the Bluray only is not out of line.

The Kickstarter is for Aria: The Animation (season 1).

btw, this is Ann Yamamoto from Pied Piper Inc of the Time of EVE and Skip Beat Kickstarters. Shawne Kleckner at Righstuf helped me tremendously with both projects, and I've been part of the Aria Kickstarter prep and I'll be part of the Kickstarter from here on out.

Shawne wants to dub S2 and S3 -- but got to make the S1 a success first!

Hey Ann, this is Marco Razz. Ann, since your part of this. Is shipping costs already included in a 55 dollar (and higher) plegde? Or is shipping costs additional?

That sounds honestly amazing if all 3 seasons and OVA's gets dubbed. I hope it turns out succesful.

@those above me, arent Media Blasters recent dubs (Ladies versus butlers, Juden chan) recorderd in NYC? NYAV Post is located in NYC too right? I wouldnt worry to much about the sound.

"As our partner on this project, we have chosen to work with Joe DiGiorgi at Headline Sound as our director, who we have worked closely with as a director and a producer on a number of our titles, including His and Her Circumstances, Comic Party, Boogiepop Phantom, The Third, amongst others. Joe has also handled many well known dubs from classic titles such as Record of Lodoss War, Genshiken, Queen's Blade, and Ikki Tousen. Headline Sound is based in New York City. "

All are pretty good dubs imo. If it wasnt that is was only region A BD discs i would have backed it in a heartbeat. I gues I've to wait and see if MVM will re-release it with a dub or maybe from AUS.

Over 10,000 dollars already in a day. That tells you right there that it will most likely make it.

I have never watched ARIA The ANIMATION or know what its even about, I will only watch it, if and when it gets dubbed. I pledged the $55 early bird tier, I haven't used Kickstarter since Clannad was on it.

For people acting like Headline is some unknown studio, they gave us His and Her Circumstances, long considered one of the greatest dubs ever produced. Their style is generally more subdued than other studios, but that makes them perfect for Aria.

I think this is a very smart way to finance a dub; I wish more smaller companies used this approach. I imagine Right Stuff will not have much trouble collecting the money for the first season's dub, and I hope they are able to successfully kickstart the rest of the seasons.

I don't know whether to praise their ingenuity in getting other people to fund their dub for them, or be sad an anime licensor has to do this to afford one.

By who? I've never once seen that on anyone's list of favorite dubs.

The last couple episodes of " His and Her Circumstances" I couldn't even watch, I tried my best to forget it, I don't remember the dub.

I adore Aria, so I'm happy to see that RightStuf believes there's fan support for it.
Meanwhile, this is being dubbed in New York? I hardly see anything dubbed there besides the occasional kid's anime nowadays...

Shipping costs are additional. Shawne has helped with shipping and fulfillment for other Kickstarters (Kick Heart, Under the Dog, Escaflowne, he helped with Time of EVE and will do fulfillment for Skip Beat) and I know he's seen projects run into trouble because not enough resources are devoted to shipping. Projects don't charge enough for shipping, and then get into a major cash pinch at the end -- this happened to me for Time of EVE, and it HURTS. Also, a lot of projects don't think through the logistics when designing the rewards.

So it's a long way of saying that I think Shawne is on target for shipping costs!
