Not surprised that Ultimate is in and Melee is out. Dissapointed to see GG gone though

Melee tournaments require having a CRT tv and perhaps a gamecube to play i think. Melee requires CRT because of the small input lag if you play on LCD, and considering that melee is very big on frames data like L-canceling is ~7 frames, or wave dashing (like 5 frames after dashing with mario). Input lag can really impact the game.

And i guess the organizers don't want to hassle themselves of finding appropriate CRTs and setting them up since they're too heavy. Especially for just one game.

Sad to see Guilty Gear and Killer Instinct, go. But especially Killer Instinct. When it comes to western made fighting games, I personally prefer it to Mortal Kombat, even though MK does have some awesome guest characters.

I'm gonna miss GG too, but Killer Instinct hasn't been on the main stage at EVO since 2016 so that's not new. Was really hoping Dead or Alive 6 would get a chance, but that's not to be I guess. Interesting that a game we know almost nothing about, SamSho, got a spot though with us only just finding out a general release date with this lineup announcement.

Super hyped for SCVI to be featured.

I love this lineup, variety is key for EVO, though.. my only complaint is BlazBlue CrossTag, it should've been CentralFiction. But, other than that.. great lineup! I'll be sure to watch Samurai Spirits, Smash Ultimate, Street Fighter 5 and UNIST.

Sad to see Melee go but I was expecting it. I was surprised when they brought it back last year and was sure it was getting cut this year. It had a good run though.

Didn't the American EVO guy say DoA doesn't represent their core values Laughing But hey, DoA6 toned itself down for esports, and still got snubbed. Serves 'em right for abandoning the fans.

I get the feeling that's aimed more at Koei Tecmo than anything for pushing their luck with those models in that Evo Japan stream - since after all, Soul Calibur 6 is in and everybody is literally losing their clothes all the time in that game.

But since the middle finger comes in the form of deserving fan favorite Under Night In-Birth getting a spot, I can't say I mind too much.
