This is the best part. I love intentional casting. Not only are both Uchida's (no family relation), their given names have the same letters aside from 1 letter (bold). Yuma is once again the MC in a SE game.

If I understand correctly, all the game's dialogue was recorded in English first which means that the Japanese audio is the dub version. That's kind of interesting, also the fact that the game was recorded in England, I'm not a native English-speaker but I think the majority of games, particularily JRPGs, I've played were recorded in the U.S. or Canada. As a Spanish speaker this kind of reminds me that Neutral Spanish dubs are exclusively made in Latin American countries, while Spain gets their own dubs (though in the case of videogames, for many years we had to use the European Spanish dub until Neutral Spanish dubbing in games became more common), but I haven't heard of many anime dubbed in Great Britain.
By the way, this is the first Final Fantasy game dubbed into Latin American Spanish and many other languages as well. This is actually pretty big news, very few Japanese videogames get dubbed into Neutral Spanish, the only ones I remember were Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul and many Nintendo games like Breath of the Wild. It's cool hearing José Ángel Torres as Clive Rosfield, José has voiced many characters like David Martínez in Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Clemont in Pokémon XY and Atsushi Nakajima in Bungō Stray Dog, among others. Hope SE can dub FFVII Remake Part 2 into other languages as well.

That's a pretty strong JP cast. Especially with the two Uchida's (no relation).

I guess if I knew more about UK talent I'd recognize more names in the English cast.

Amusingly, this is neither Yuma Uchida's first major role in a Final Fantasy, nor his first FF-adjacent leading role where he gets to fight Phoenix.

I was considering going with EN voices as is my tradition for FF games, but this JP cast is hard to pass up.

Square made a comment about the England English thing in an interview before. With medievil / fantasy world settings english speaking adueinces (or at least americans) have an expectation that the cast have an English accent. Square apprently recieved negative feedback regarding this in the past which is why the made sure the characters had english accents in this one (I think the game that was criticized was FF XII)

Also want to mention that it isnt unheard of for Japanese games to make the English version the original language version. I remember this happening with resident evil

EDIT: Found the interview https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/producer-confirms-final-fantasy-16-uses-british-english-only-and-no-american-accents/

Besides this, the only JRPG's that used England actors that I could think of was The Last Story and Xenoblade 1. I'm fine with all that, since the voice work in those, and from what we heard in this is fantastic.

Square Enix does it fairly frequently. Final Fantasy XIV, Dragon Quest XI, Bravely Default II, Harvestella, and Diofield Chronicle have all used Side UK as their dubbing studio, while Side Global put out Triangle Strategy with English actors in principle roles (including the MC).

Alll three Op Rainfall titles had UK based dubs (Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade), the latter keeping it with all the numbered titles too. Dragon Quest has mostly been UK based as well. FFXIV starting with Heavensward moved to Europe; in fact, there's a good amount of voice crossover with Xenoblade.
