They really got MAPPA and Madhouse to make an entire anime prequel to promote the game, released the game 2 years later and then shut it down in less than a year lol.

It got an English release? First I've heard of it. There's no article here that I can find aside from one talking about a late April beta and Wikipedia only says it "will be released in English in late 2023". I'm seeing reviews as early as July in Google Play, but I don't know if those are still testers or not given some of the complaints.

It honestly boggles my mind why they even bothered with this, given the current competition in Japan, China and otherwise with gacha games, it's a waste of money.

I thought they were pulling an Umamusume with this: the longer the game is delayed, the better it'll be. Guess not, and 9 months from launch to EoS is definitely on the low end. The tie-in anime was decent, too, but alas.

This series already killed itself the moment it revealed itself to be another boring "girls with a self-insert guy" series. The anime could have at least removed the guy.

Oh please. Uma Musume is only alive because of GBF codes. Also the anime was dull and boring.

If the game was released concurrent with the anime, it might have done better but releasing years after the anime was over, is an incredibly stupid idea.

Stop the cap. The Uma Musume game has grossed over $2 billion dollars.

Those GBF codes drive sales for blu rays and DVDs of the anime but they aren't getting you $2 billion in revenue for the mobile game.

Just started watching this yesterday. First thing I did was to look up if the game is still alive. Well, got my answer one day later Laughing

The cross promotion with other Cygames games (GBF and Shadowverse) and Goldship's vtuber shenanigans did keep the interest to the Uma Musume franchise alive during the time between anime end and delay. Takt.Op didn't have that so by the time the game was released barely anyone hyped by it.

The anime was pretty good - I'd go so far as to say fairly underrated. So at least we got that out of it.

My opinion exactly. That New Orleans episode was really quite good.

Isn't this that one guy on these forums who's always complaining about guys in moe anime ruin the show and any moe anime with a male character in it is dead? I wouldn't take his arguments too seriously.
