So, I guess Sony (Columbia Pictures) paid off the Guinness Book of World Records to have a completely new (and mostly pointless) category created just to promote this movie?

Have you ever seen any of the video game record books they put out in the last 15 years? Most of the records are just poor setups for the editors to go on about games they like. Things along the lines of "Best Selling Sequel featuring a Vampire in the Lead Role."

No, seems they broke a previous record.

Nevertheless, what's the problem? If this was an anime promotion, ya guys would be peeing your pants right now. Razz

Probably because Pixels is the third LEAST looked-forward-to major movie this summer, right behind "Pan" and "San Andreas", and right ahead of Terminator: Genisys and the Fantastic Four reboot.
Is it July yet? Sad Just release the darn thing, Sony, and put us all out of our misery; we've given up hoping that something will finally sink Adam Sandler's mainstream career outside of his own production company.
