If you are even the least bit a fan of this show buy it now while you can. Come re release time Aniplex's future version will likely be twice as much.

not too surprising. it seems like NIS is going to get out of the anime business after Love Live the movie is released. They havnt licensed any new series' this year so that would be a huge indicator.

I guess this means Aniplex USA is taking over the license; they have season 3 after all. I suspect the same thing is going to happen with the Anohana series.
I would not mind if the Anohana series goes to Aniplex USA if that means they will pay for an English dub.

I am starting to suspect the same. It will be a shame because NISA puts out great physical releases. I want them to get a title like Hyouka, dub it, sell a ton of copies of it and remain in the anime business.

I highly doubt that. The release model works out well for them since most of their fanbase will buy any show just because they like the sets they release. This is most likely a case of Aniplex wanting the release rights back,so they decided to not give NISA another contract for it.

Knowing Aniplex, odds are there won't even *be* a re-release in the future. They seem to have absolutely no interest at all in putting out any of their backlog of shows not named Gurren Lagann.
Which is why we'll more than likely sadly never see shows like Paradise Kiss, Hell Girl season 1, Nerima Daikon Brothers, Star Driver, or even Rurouni Kenshin in print ever again.

Don't worry, I ordered it from RightStuf when I read that this was happening. Last week.
I bet South Pacific is thrilled though.

But this isn't an isolated thing. They haven't announced any new licenses for quite some time. And they've already let several licenses expire. They aren't even attempting to finish up shows like Yuru Yuri 3, which still remains unannounced for a US license.

I am too, actually. I have pretty much given up hope of finding/owning the Premium from NISA, but if AoA relicenses it and puts out a Blu-ray release, it's certainly going to be better than the standard DVD set, which is all we have now.

Earlier this year there was an announcement that Love Live S1 and S2 would be dubbed by them being released in 2016.

Again, don't get your hopes up. With the exception of Gurren Lagann, AoA hasn't recently done re-releases for any of the older shows that they once licensed to other companies. It's as if they have no interest at all in opening up their back catalog.
In fact, during one of their interviews a few months back (though I forget which one, exactly), they specifically said they have no current plans to release anything from their backlog.

That's a shame that NISA is going out of business. I loved their premium box sets especially Torodora.

NISA's still in the game localization market, they're not going out of business.

That is a rather harsh conclusion to jump to. Not renewing one license isn't even necessarily a declaration that they're done with anime. Not to mention that they didn't start out as an anime licensor, they were primarily a video game company. So even if they decide to be done with anime, it hardly means they're going out of business.
