Bandai Celebrates Zeta Gundam 30th Anniversary With Transforming Psycho Gundam

The Premium Bandai shop is celebrating the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam's 30th anniversary with a limited, transforming MRX-009 Psycho Gundam figure. The imposing Gundam is part of Bandai's Assault Kingdom Shokugan (lit. "candy") figure line. Pre-orders opened on July 22 for 9,990 yen (about US$81).
The Psycho Gundam measures 200mm (about 8in) and is posable. It can also transform into its defensive "Mobile Fortress" mode and back into its Mobile Suit form. Users can switch between three different interchangable hand parts for a clenched fist, Beam Gun attack, and a gripping hand.
Just like in the anime, this Mobile Suit's size is more than twice that of the other figures in the Shokugan Assault Kingdom line. Collectors can pair the Psycho Gundam with the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II to reinact scenes from the show.
The figure is scheduled to ship in December.
