KOEI Tecmo's VR Sense virtual reality game machines launched in Japan on December 21, and reportedly surpassed 5,000 plays in their first five days. The machines come in "Sparkling Silver" and "Sparkling Blue" varieties, and three games are currently available for both types. The arcade machines' official website began streaming promotional videos to introduce the six games last week.
VR Sense machines feature "multi-function 3D seats," as well as scent, head-touching, leg-touching, warming, cooling, mist, and wind features. The games available on the "Sparkling Silver" machine are Chō Shin Sangoku Musou (Super Dynasty Warriors), G1 Jockey Sense, and Dead or Alive Xtreme Sense. The games available on the "Sparkling Blue" machine are 3 Majesty × X.I.P. Dream☆Live, Horror Sense ~Daruma-san ga Koronda~, and Chō Sengoku Coaster.
The 3 Majesty × X.I.P. Dream☆Live game, which features idols from Tokimeki Restaurant☆☆☆, is reportedly the most popular game available on either unit. In the game, players choose to view a performance of either the 3 Majesty or X.I.P. idol unit. Players cheer for their favorite idol by moving a pen light to the rhythm of the music. If players get a high score, they can also get the experience of being on stage with the performers.
The idols of 3 Majesty and X.I.P. will also star in the Tokimeki Restaurant☆☆☆ Miracle6 anime film adaptation of Konami and KOEI Tecmo Games' Tokimeki Restaurant☆☆☆ smartphone game. The film will open in Japan on February 10. Both the virtual reality game and anime film celebrate the fifth anniversary of the game.
