Tiger & Bunny Gets New Short Anime at September Concerts
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Tiger & Bunny anime announced on Friday that the Pacifico Yokohama's National Convention Hall of Yokohama is hosting special Tiger & Bunny concerts with a new short anime on September 19 and 20. The franchise's composer Yoshihiro Ike is personally conducting the "Sternbild Orchestra & Band" for live performances of music from the television series and two films. More details including tickets information will be announced soon.
The original television anime series centers around heroes for hire — super powered beings known as NEXT who wear sponsor logos while fighting crime on live television. The anime celebrated its fourth anniversary on Friday at 1:58 a.m., and the anime's website posted a character profile for Virgil Dingfelder, as well as Twitter icons for Wild Tiger Style 2 and Virgil.
Keiichi Satou (Karas director, The Big O character/mechanical designer) directed the anime, and Masafumi Nishida (live-action Kaibutsu-kun) wrote and oversaw the scripts. Manga artist Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl Ai, DNA², I''s, Zetman), a well-known fan of Batman and other superhero comics, created the original character designs.
The series spawned two movies: Tiger & Bunny the Movie: The Beginning in 2012 and Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- last year. Viz released the television series, the films, and the tie-in manga in North America.
