TOHO animation began streaming a promotional video for the anime part of Cygames' Uma Musume Pretty Derby project on Sunday. The video previews the opening theme "Make Debut" by the main seven Uma Musume characters.
The anime will premiere with a one-hour special at midnight the night of Sunday, April 1 (effectively Monday morning) on Tokyo MX and BS11. It will also air on Kansai TV, Saga TV, BS11, and Abema TV.

Masafumi Sugiura (aka Pierre Sugiura, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru scripts) and Cygames' Akihiro Ishihara are both writing and overseeing the series scripts. UTAMARO movement is composing the music at Lantis.
The main seven Uma Musume characters are also singing the ending theme "Grow Up Shine!"

Players take the role of both teacher and trainer for the girls in the Nihon Uma Musume Training Center Gakuen (Japan Horse Girls Training Center Academy) and help them make their debut.
