L.A. Convention Center hosts July 5-8 event

J-Novel Club announced on Tuesday that it will host Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash author Ao Jūmonji as a guest for this year's Anime Expo.

Ao Jūmonji launched the Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash light novel series with illustrations by Eiri Shirai in 2013, and Overlap Bunko published the 12th novel on March 21. J-Novel Club licensed the novels and is releasing them digitally, while Seven Seas is publishing the novels physically. Mutsumi Okubashi launched a manga adaptation in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine in April 2015. Yen Press licensed the manga and shipped the third volume on January 23.

An anime adaptation premiered in January 2016. Funimation Entertainment streamed the series as it aired in Japan. The company released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD last May.

Jūmonji's other works include A Brave Heart of Red Rose I. -Farewell, the Witch Queen- (Bara no Maria I. Yume Oi Joō wa Eien ni Nemure) — his debut work and the first novel in his 27-volume 2004-2014 Bara no Maria light novel series. He also wrote the ANGEL+DIVE and Daiku light novel series.

This year's Anime Expo will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 5 to July 8, with a pre-show event on July 4.
