Watching the OVA made me remember why I love this series so much.

Yes, the OVA was lots of fun and Hana was absolutely HHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG.... but I'm still not sure if I'd watch a second season of this...
The sole reason for that is Soushi. That guy is such a creep and I feel like he's going to rape Ririchiyo any second. He just takes advantage of her and manipulates her so easily. While she can resist to a degree it clear she'd give in eventually.
I absolutely love the secondary cast and Ririchiyo herself, but I don't think I could stomach her and Soushi's relationship being at the forefront since they started dating.
*Finds out what happens later in the manga*
... Okay, maybe I would watch it

A tonal shift would be putting it lightly, it is actually a reaon I am not sure if a second season would be made.

Well I did kinda want something like that to happen. I mean, this is a shonen title with supernatural powers so there were plenty of opportunities for action scenes instead of just "I can't believe it's not shoujo" stuff.
But to go that far...

Holy crap. There is no way that I would have ever seen that coming. I hope that they don't make a second season. Yikes.

Are we talking about a Bunny Drop type(to the people who knows what happens in the end of the manga) of shift?

The big event in Inu x Boku SS is not quite as thoroughly story-ruining, but the tonal shift is far stronger and more sudden than in Usagi Drop.
