Though tbh, when I saw the title, I first thought about something more along the lines of Bruce Almight crossed with the lighter elements of Noragami. Like an ordinary person becomes a local god and has to earn followers while comedy ensues. |
You should check out Kamichu! That's the vibe I got from this, except for the "Comedy" part lol. The music, art, and of coures the description sounds pretty bleak so far

Hard pass from me. |
Where does it say "no hope of being averted"? I guess it is kinda implied but maybe stopping the end is part of the plot. We don't know. Though I don't think that should automatically disqualify it. |
The quotation marks were more to represent the general phrasing of the idea than any actual citation. Yeah, it's all in the implications. The teaser says this girl becomes a god, but ignores any possibility that she'll use her powers to stop the impending apocalypse and instead has her choose someone to be with until the end comes. The fact that she did this after foreseeing the end implies that it's an inevitable downer ending. Not something I want to latch onto immediately, though if "stopping the end" becomes a possibility part-way through, I may regain interest in it.

The world ending.. or end of the world is not a new concept for Key..
Planetarian, Harmonia, Rewrite...
I'm interested in seeing what comes of this.. AB was great, Charlotte.. was meh. Rewrite was terrible.
Lets hope we can reverse the chain..

I love Rewrite...the VN. When the VN version comes out (hopefully later this year but....) I definitely recommend you read/play it even if you hated the anime. The anime was TERRIBLE. Rewrite was probably my favorite media series in the world for a few years and the anime was so bad it made me never want to even see the word "Rewrite" for a long time because it would remind me of the terrible anime. The VN is fantastic tho

Darn and here I thought it was about a boy who becomes a girl then becomes a god. Well that's disappointing, oh well I'll pass on this.

I didn't care that much for Charlotte but I'm still always interested in seeing what Jun Maeda has planned so I'll at least check this out.

I’ll take a look at this, but I just hope Jun Maeda can deliver something that’s an improvement over Charlotte. At least the music should be pleasant.

Wow, I totally enjoyed Charlotte! Sure it had its issues, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the show!

Even if it is a full on tragedy porn, nothing is disqualified. Everyone has their thing that they like. Takkun merely said it is a hard pass for him. As much as I liked 'Ran' the movie, the ending was a hard bummer.
I am going for tragedy porn for this one or a massive marketing failure. The teaser was quite clear in what it said. He wasn't summoned to save the world, but rather to keep her company as the world ends. Question now is how the world is going to end. Is it going to end with them sitting on a bench waiting for the world to slowly die, or is there going to be an epic battle which causes the worlds destruction. Anime is good for either option. So choose your poison.
But this is not to say that Kougeru, you are completely wrong, there might be a chance that the summoned one is not content to wait for death but will challenge his goddess to strive for the future than wait for the final darkness.
That said though, it still casts a shadow of dismal pain and regret. And anime is known to do that quite well too.

Imagine if it's just the two MCs sitting on a benching talking and commenting for 12 episodes while watching how the world ends in the background MST3K style
