I spy with my little eye Girls Bravo and Paranoia Agent bootlegs. Other than that, pretty nifty shelves. I especially like how you have certain volumes sitting outface and slightly slanted.

Yeah, I hear ya and agree. I also saw some of their releases being delayed or on indefinite status. It's a shame, I really like Media Blasters for various titles they released and will release *crosses fingers* in the upcoming months. |

I guess whether there are any hot deals on Moribito depends on your packaging threshold, since the Wal*Mart box is $25. I wonder whether the Wal*Mart set would fit into the Volume release artbox |

Since it says it can hold all 8 volumes I bet it can hold at least 8 jewel cases which is what I plan on doing. *shudder* I love that I have all of Moribito from the Walmart deal but the packaging was awful, the other people in my anime club were scared of breaking the DVDs while trying to get them out and I don't blame them. Darn you Erin, just when I thought I had all the MB stuff I wanted you remind me of all these series I haven't even had a chance to try yet. Here's to hoping MB sticks around as long as they can! |

I see you've changed your icon to my new favorite character! My friend ordered two set of Moribito on rightstuf for free shipping and I'm reaping the benefits.
I am super angry that Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei might not happen, despite being on the schedule for December. My friend who was working at Media Blasters just got layed off. He says there aren't many employees left - and they layed off their last native Japanese speaker! Zetsubou is really hard to translate...! |

GaoGaiGar's a slow burn, but once it gets to that second half, HOO BOY. This is still one of my favorite mecha series. I'd like to see GaoGaiGAr Final get licensed, but doubt that will happen now, given how much Media Blasters messed up the release of this show.

Ugh, you've gotta be kidding me. I can't believe this columnist considers crap like Gurren Lagann shelf worthy and rips on Guyver

Aww... sentai-like series got flushed. TastuGero23 is sad. I thought it was okay but sentai has always been "ha ha" or "meh" to non-fans so I get it. But yeah... story was pretty forgettable. Not to mention a bad ending which is an unfinished "wait for season 2! Oh.. wait... we aren't getting one?... Oops..." style ending. Nice that they followed the manga but I think I would have liked it's own story and excuses for Guyver gore action. Although I can't agree with Erin about the porn references. I know tentacles and porn go hand and hand (or in hand and other things...) but I didn't really get the same vibe to be honest. You into some kinky stuff there Erin.
But its cool you liked Gaogaigar. Fun series overall and strikes alot of chords with the kind of old school over the top robot action. like Gurren Lagann minus the LSD but still somewhat ridiculous. Just be prepared for it and you should be okay. But man... I was kinda confused at the ending for that series. |

And I'm sure that in Bizarro land, Gurren Lagaan is crap.
You did watch FINAL right? |

Bones basically pulled the same thing with Soul Eater that they did with the first series of FMA. So I'd rather a Soul Eater: Brotherhood than Soul Eater Kai. =D

I believe that there can be good sentai, I just haven't seen it yet. I'm friends with Mike Dent, you know?
I started watching anime with Legend of the Overfiend. I have nothing to say for myself. But seriously Guyver had more porn-like elements than most actual porn these days. It was really odd. It wasn't just the tentacles, there was a massive amount of drool. |

garfield15: Yeah I've seen final but (Erin don't read this! Seriously don't! I Don't go into details but it may leave false impressions) spoiler[that all seemed really abrupt to me in how it ended so I was kinda left with "Huh... did that just happen? How..." You know, given how the series has always been it just seemed a bit out of place. In character mind you and story-wise, I got it. But just surprised and caught off guard that they ended it the way they did.]
I have no idea who that is. But I will assume he is some pen-ultimate of the Western Sentai community, so to that; awesome. To the interweb! But I'm use to my sentai either in Japanese or poorly dubbed in English or in Hmong (I watched videos of the US Dynaman ALOT when I was little). Cause that's just how I roll. And I don't know, maybe its because I've seen alot of hentai back in college (not to mention 2 and a 1/2 years of life drawing) or maybe I'm underexposed to yaoi (I don't see that as a bad thing); I never really got that vibe from the series. And I've seen La Blue Girl... All of them... some not by my own deciding... And sometimes twice... But I get where your coming from so I can't really say it's unreasonable not to get such a vibe. I think I can just more easily mentally separate hentai/porn elements with regular stuff. Cause you can't take 2 1/2 years of life drawing with that kind of distraction... It just not healthy... and you don't always get the good chair for those 2 hour classes...alot of cute female models... spoiler[boners...]. spoiler[Sorry...] spoiler[I'm gonna go to bed now...] |

a word on Moribito and the 8 disk spindle of DOOM... yeah, be carefull with the disks the first time you unload the spindle kids, and put them in regular cases immediately... or suffer the heartbreak of a cracked disk 3.
which MB helpfully said they would replace if I sent it to them... 6 MONTHS and 3 promises AGO. Figuring I'll never see the replacement, I just ordered another from rightstuf, and I'll donate the other set to the library, prolly. Since I sent the disk to MB, I canna exactly return the whole shebang to wal-mart, and beg for a replacement. The library may replace the 3 disk as a single, or leave it go, dunno. Essentially replacing the single costs almost what the whole set does anyway. I suppose if MB ever sends me the disk, then I can stop hating them... But their customer service is crap, or has become that way. I hate to see downward spirals like that. On a tangent, wasn't there a live action Guyver? I seem to remember Mark Hamil being in it, and it was funny in a really cheesy late 80's sort of way. Or I was drinkin' too much. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ah to be young and insane... |
