inb4 Twin Tower/9-11 references

Too late, first thing I thought when I saw the image and word "terror" in the title was, "HOLY SHIT WATANABE AND THEM GUYS ARE MAKING A 9/11 ANIME?!!" As in, an anime about how these three characters were affected by 9/11 or some such.

I have no guilt admitting I was disappointed when I saw the smartphone in the trailer thumbnail and realized it wasn't about 9/11 at all. (Yes, I only skimmed the article I guess...)

BUT, it's Watanabe, so this should be good.

Not that it'll ever better his magnum opus about bounty hunters in space, or his close-to-magnum-opus about samurai and hip-hop...

Great news; another original anime. The trailer looks interesting. Also excited that Watanabe is directing (and to a lesser extent that Kanno is doing the music). Also, the last time I watched an anime from Mappa (Kids on the Slope), I came out very satisfied.

And thanks for the link Divineking.

9/11 and school boys ? Not so sure. Everting else is a big YES.
The Government Building is for example in Patalabor 2. An amazing anti-terror movie(but a bad way to end a series). Big recommendation from me. 10/10
Eden of the East was also good. 8,5/10 The Kids on the Slope the manga though is way better because the story is told in a more complete way.

I wonder what role that girl is playing. Hopefully it is not some lame plot catalyst.

I suspect that was what Penguin_Factory was alluding to without saying it outright. I have my doubts most anime watchers wouldn't have recognized the building in Japan that it actually is, even if they didn't know the name of the building.

It appears they quite literally mirrored the damage to the twin towers. Compare it to the most often seen harbor-side images of the towers after the attacks (e.g., the top one at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/65/September_11_Photo_Montage.jpg), and you'll see the smoke is in the opposite direction, and which side has the fire lower is also flipped.

I'm getting kind of an Eden of the East vibe from this.

It's great to see Watanabe and Kanno team up again. I'll check it out.

Didn't like Eden of the East. It started out amazing, but then kinda got lost on me.

So far I've yet to be disappointed by anything Watanabe does. I thought he was busy on Space Dandy though? Now this is coming out too? Somebody's been busy!

Looking forward to more Seinen-ish serious anime. This shot up my must -see list.

Man, this is in summer as well? I'm totally excited for it!

Summer is seriously going to be a booked season for me though.
Shounen Hollywood
Bakumatsu Rock
(Hopefully) Free! s2
Sailor Moon
Edited Psycho-Pass
I think Love Stage! may be about around that time too, and now this as well.

Usually I watched 1 maybe 2 shows a season, so huh, this is gunna be alot for me to take in.

I know I *should* be really excited about this.

But sadly, my first reaction to this news was "gargleflargleAniplex". Mad

Thank you for the link, Divineking.

And, yeah, I'm absolutely on board for this one. The trailer looks fantastic, I love the character designs already, Yoko Kanno's doing the score, and I'd watch anything by Watanabe, anyway, regardless of the story and setting (although this one looks very interesting, even better). So nice to come home and find this news along with the Psycho-Pass trailer. I'm quite pleased.

How is it that a new Watanabe/Kanno combination is announced and nobody mentions Space Dandy?

Could not agree more! More Watanabe/Kanno and an update on when more Psycho-Pass is coming, great stuff!

Watanabe, Kanno and Nakazawa, it's gotta be my most anticipated show of the summer now. Impressive visuals in the trailer and as expected from Watanabe cool camera moves, motion-blur etc.
