Well, I definitely believe that we did (dodge a bullet).
Here is the proof: animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-10-13/writer/anohana-originally-had-slapstick-erotic-elements The words "slapstick erotic elements" make my skin crawl. Instead of a touching story about a bunch of ex-friends trying to move on from the death of one of their own by fulfilling her last request, the show would instead have shoved cliched ecchi scenes into our faces. Okada is not a bad writer when she applies herself but she is very frustrating at times. |
