REVIEW: Outbreak Company Blu-Ray

Really great to hear about the inclusion of on-screen notes, and I'm surprised they used included it in the dub. Some publishers/industry people are averse to that because it's too fansub-like and use a separate booklet instead, which kills the experience IMO.

An otaku-pandering show about that is how we could describe it.

As for the review itself it is pretty complete. I kind of liked Petralka's character -- she was neither a fool or too wise and also never became a run-of-the-mill tsundere.

A rather well written object lesson about the forced intrusion into Japan by Commodore Perry and the incursion of American culture. As with all good lessons, it is subtle and does not become obvious until it is too late and you find you have learned something.

My experience with Sentai (ADV) notes varies. Sometimes I find them a bit annoying because they'll explain something that I didn't need explained, and sometimes it feels like the context of the scene would be enough. But occasionally they will be helpful, and reference heavy shows lose a lot of luster if the references fly over the audience's head.
