I don't blame him. The schedule they have to work is insane. I would be more than happen with a short series or two after One Piece.

Oda (like most other mangaka) work from home. Him sleeping 3hrs a day is his own choice, and not out of necessity. If you read his author comments and look at all the stuff he does outside of drawing the manga, it very much seems that he could sleep more if he wanted to, but chooses not to, so that he can have some time to do what he wants.
