There is a shocking lack of Anos Voldigoad

If I'm not mistaken the LN is not licensed in English and so it doesn't qualify for Kim's list.

(BTW. I kinda get why Kim didn't include Index on this list. I originally tried reading Index because people said it had action scenes rivaling shonen manga. It kinda started out like that... but then it doesn't? It's kinda hard to explain.)

Having read absolutely all of Index, I was not expecting it to be on this list. It has shonen elements for sure, but I never once thought that it felt shonen. Completely agree with you that it doesn't really fit once you take a close look.

Touma doesn't ever powerlevel or upgrade, so Index doesn't feel like a shonen manga.

So, do Bisco and Milo have a romantic or brotherly/familial-type love?

They all look really fun! Now I have more series to get into. Good idea for an article too!

Also in the same vein are:

Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero
Chrome Shelled Regios
Lord Marksman and Vanadis
Tokyo Ravens

Which are in dire need of English licensing.

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!!!!!

especially in the case of rouge hero for its MC makes issei's perversions look tame. at least he no redo of healer.

though i can get why tokyo ravens wasnt on this list or have an eng license. its one of those slow running series like keikaishi and not very high on the action like other shonen type series. also there was the whole thing involving the two cousins harutora and natsumi that clearly had romantic feelings for one another and when it got released in japan, those types of relationships were a no no after the oreimo ending and the controversy that occured during the middle volimes of SAOs fairy dance arc so i really cant blame any eng publisher for not licensing it.

though what i am really surprised is that NEITHER rise of the shield hero NOR that time i was reincarnated as a slime were not in the list for you cant have afurieta in the list and not those two series considering their similar in style with the latter series COMPLETELY embracing the shonen formula with the MC's partmer going all otaku mode on his opponents by spamming hadokens and kamehameha waves!
